St. Mary’s Polish Country Fair to deliver toe-tapping music and fun for kids Memorial Day Weekend #TellUsDetroit

ORCHARD LAKE, MI – St. Mary’s Polish Country Fair will host an award-winning line-up of local musical acts on Memorial Day Weekend, May 25-28, 2012. Now in its 41st year, the nation’s largest high school country Fair will showcase sounds from nearly every musical genre. All performances all FREE of charge.

St. Mary’s kicks off the weekend in a jazzy fashion on Friday, May 25 with performances by the Orchard Lake St. Mary’s Jazz Ensemble and The Night Hawks Jazz Orchestra. The Polish Muslims, whose sound has been described as “combining all of your favorite styles of pop music (’60s rock, polka, alternative, et cetera) with a touch of tongue in cheek humor” will help patrons celebrate the festival’s Polish heritage with its light-hearted, family-friendly attitude that evening as well.

Well-known acts also taking to the Fair stage on the grounds of St. Mary’s in Orchard Lake during the weekend will include the Rock n’ Blues/Funk group the Howling Diablos. The Howling Diablos recently received five awards at the 21st annual Detroit Music Awards. The musical group was honored in categories including Outstanding Video / Independent Budget (Under $10,000) for their song “Mr. Right Now,” and named Outstanding Urban/Funk Artist/Group of the year.

Sunday and Monday include headliner performances by the ultimate retro band the Mega 80’s and the Persuasion Band, one of the most high-energy bands in the Midwest.
